Program Profile
The training you will get at the Faculty of Law will teach you the rules governing the relations of individuals and states with each other, why and how these rules are set, under what conditions and how they are applied, what needs to be done to represent the right holders or what needs to be known to be able to decide between individuals and institutions in disputes.
The training you will receive will enhance your problem-solving and abstract thinking skills. Besides, you will learn to question and do research, and you will have a broad perspective. By understanding international laws, you will know which rules and procedures are based on international relations.
In the Faculty of Law, you will find two divisions as private law and public law.
The department of public law consists of seven departments:
- Constitutional Law,
- General Public Law,
- International Law,
- Administrative Law,
- Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law,
- Philosophy and Sociology of Law,
- History of Law.
The private law department consists of six departments:
- Civil Law,
- Roman Law,
- Commercial Law,
- Civil Procedure and Enforcement-Bankruptcy Law,
- International Private Law,
- Labour and Social Security Law.
Career Opportunities
When you graduate from law school, you can become a judge, prosecutor, notary public, self-employed lawyer, corporate lawyer, district governor, governor, or academician. If you want to become a judge or prosecutor, you can complete your internship after graduation and apply it to the Ministry of Justice. If you are successful in the exam, your appointment will be carried out and you will be able to start your profession.
Being a lawyer, on the other hand, is a profession that is carried out freely, in a sense where the person is the boss of his/her own business. You listen to the claims and complaints of the right holders, offer them legal advice, or work to get their rights by representing them in the courts in a wide range of fields. To work as a lawyer, you must register with the Union of Bar Associations of Turkey.
