So far around 900 international students have learned Turkish with the scholarship of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the support of non-governmental organizations, or personal participation.

In addition to teaching the Turkish language, KTO KAR-DİL additionally offers national and international certification programs and exams. Our Turkish language teaching center additionally offers training programs to international students who are preparing for an associate or undergraduate degree at KTO Karatay University.

KTO KAR-DİL students do not merely receive theoretical training in the classroom. Students also have the opportunity to improve their Turkish speaking skills through social activities.

Turkish teaching activities are carried out in modern and spacious classrooms. Our curriculum is prepared at a level to meet both the general and academic Turkish Language needs of students. This curriculum is one of the most intensive programs among the education programs of Turkish Teaching Application and Research Centers.


Language teaching in KTO KAR-DİL is based on equally weighted development and acquisition of 4 basic language skills (Reading-Listening-Writing-Speaking) specified in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Turkish Language is taught at 6 levels and in 1160 hours. Students can participate in the academic Turkish language education designed for the Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities.

At the end of the Turkish program, students reach the level to study in their departments where the language of instruction is completely Turkish.

The education programs, which start depending on the academic calendar of our university, end in July of the following year. At the end of the A2 or B1 level, a 1-week "Semester Break" is given. Educational activities between semesters and excluding public holidays are carried out continuously every weekday between 09:00 and 17:00.

Beginner /A1-A2     : Students attend a total of 360 lessons, at least 25 lessons per week throughout 14 weeks.

Intermediate/B1-B2   : Students attend a total of 400 lessons, at least 28 lessons per week, throughout 14 weeks.

Advanced/C1             : Students get a total of 200 lessons, at least 20 hours per week for 7 weeks.

Academic Turkish     :  We recommended all students to take the Academic Turkish course which is a continuation program to reach full academic competence. This course includes special modules for the development of academic writing and reading skills with 60 hours of speaking club activities.
