Program Profile
The Department of Interior Architecture aims to provide students with a scientific and systematic perspective by balancing the theoretical and practical courses during their education.
The important goals of this department are to unveil the creative side of the student and to lead innovative and functional designs with the support of technology developing in the information age. We aim to provide graduates whose designs are applicable nationally and internationally in life and industry.
During their education, our students are expected to learn how to identify and investigate the problems of interior and functional spaces. This discipline solves problems with the knowledge and creativity of the current building technology of the materials and equipment of the building systems. It is the discipline that designs and plans interior spaces with aesthetic understanding in order to provide for user’s needs and to increase the quality of life and services of construction and supervision.
The Department of Interior Architecture curriculum is reinforced with foreign language courses, professional computer programs, and elective courses in various subjects. Students gain the necessary knowledge in undergraduate education during the 4 years and this program provides students to improve themselves with an interdisciplinary approach.
Career Opportunities
By studying in this department, you can identify the problems related to the functionality and quality of interior spaces and solve them by adding your creativity. In addition, with the help of today's building technology and building systems, you can design and plan interior spaces to protect user welfare and increase the quality of life. You become a professional specialist focusing on aesthetics and construction site.
After graduation, you can work as an interior designer and consultant in private and public institutions. You can work as a member or manager of a designer group in the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, provincial and district municipalities, and private companies. Or you can work in the project and sales departments of furniture companies.
Those who do not prefer to work for an organization can open their own private offices.
