Graphic design is a creative process involving the transmission of a message where the text and the visuals are formed in a perceptible and visible plane.
Graphic design products play an active role in educating broad public masses aesthetically. Graphic art, which started to take a larger place in our daily life with posters, illustrations, animations, and cartoons is now a useful tool in the education of people at almost every age. It is intertwined with society and that is why graphic design is a requirement of all design practices on a universal scale.
The main principles of the Department of Graphic Design are:
- To educate creative designers who can solve all kinds of visual design problems and use advanced equipment required by the modern ages.
- To develop the concept of author designer among students
- To train students to understand the necessities of the modern ages.
The course content of the Graphic Design Undergraduate Program is based on disciplines within visual communication such as advertising design, packaging design, publishing graphic design, illustration, text-typography, computer design, and original printmaking.
Career Opportunities
By studying at the Department of Graphic Design, you specialize in designing texts and images in a perceptible and visible format, in two or three dimensions, to convey a message, develop a visual or visualize a thought.
You can work as a printmaking artist or as a graphic designer in advertising agencies, organization agencies, design centers, printing houses, newspapers, and museums. Graduates of the department are recruited by advertising agencies, press agencies, and media. Also, they can either start their businesses or work in medium and large-scale printing and publishing companies.
