Program Profile
The Department of Architecture trains students who have the willingness and capacity to design and build the environment -either a small house or a big city- for human life. This program aims to nurture architects who can:
- Design qualified living spaces by using modern technology,
- compete in the international arena,
- follow current urban and architectural issues,
- raise questions proposing new implementations,
- work to protect social benefit.
What is Architecture?
It is the art of designing buildings, open areas, communities, and other constructions and environments, mostly with an aesthetic effect. Architecture, most of the time, includes design or selection of furnishings and decorations, supervision of construction work, and the examination, restoration, or remodeling of existing buildings in parallel with the needs and wishes. The major feature that distinguishes architecture from other art branches is the direct effect on human life and society: People live in, and around what an architect designs.

Career Opportunities
At the Department of Architecture, our students are trained to undertake administrative and professional roles in municipalities, private sector as well as public institutions.
Our graduates can work on every stage of the projecting phase such as concept design to application and detail designs, 3D modeling and visualization in architectural offices. They can also work as project coordinators or project managers.
The construction sector is one of the locomotive sectors of Turkey’s economy, and Turkey is among the most powerful countries in the world in the international contracting business. Architecture graduates can easily find a good job unlike other professions.
