Program Profile
The Department of Audiology was established to provide students with high standards of knowledge, clinical service, and research opportunities, and to provide education at the undergraduate level in the correct assessment and diagnosis of problems related to hearing and balance.
Our department provides four-year undergraduate education, and the language of instruction is Turkish. Courses are conducted both theoretically and practically. Audiology students have the responsibilities of doing internships in the field, preparing education programs and materials, reports, seminars, training, and research projects.
An audiologist is a healthcare professional who works to prevent hearing loss, does hearing and balance check as well as detecting and rehabilitating related disorders.
Career Opportunities
The Department of Audiology teaches you how to deal with hearing and balance problems correctly and raises you as a qualified and well-equipped professional. After your graduation, you become a healthcare professional who works for the prevention of hearing impairments. You will do hearing and balance checks and, depending on the diagnosis you will help your patients to use the necessary devices for treatment.
Graduates of this department can work as an audiologist in private or public hospitals and can make noise measurements in noisy acoustic environments, take the necessary measures to protect the hearing health of those living and employees in these environments, and take part in appropriate rehabilitative services when necessary. Our graduates take part in the rehabilitation of individuals with hearing loss in terms of language and speech development and work in related rehabilitation centers.
They can also be educators or managers in the relevant departments of universities where undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral education in audiology is provided.
