Profile of The Program

The aim of the Foreign Trade Program is to train graduates who have knowledge and experience about the basic foreign trade program needed by public institutions and the private sector. In this sense, it is aimed to train the qualified manpower needed especially within the Ministry of Trade. In our Foreign Trade program,
students are given both theoretical and practical, qualified education throughout the two-year period.
Our mission is to graduate students as creative managers and trading professionals who can think analytically and excel in risk management. The courses in the curriculum cover basic information about import-export, customs legislation and commercial law in order to interpret trade fluctuations at the international level in the most accurate way and act accordingly.

Career Opportunities

Students who graduate from the Department of Foreign Trade at the Vocational School of Trade and Industry have the right to become Assistant Customs Brokers with a B card approved by the Ministry of Customs if they take the Assistant Customs Brokerage exam held by the Ministry of Customs and pass the exam.
Graduates have the opportunity to work in all domestic and foreign enterprises in the field of international trade; they are employed in the private sector as well as in the public sector in case of need. The Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance and Commercial Attaché Offices can be given as examples as working areas.
Graduates of the department also have the opportunity to be employed in exporter associations. Export finance is an important field of employment and they can work in the foreign exchange departments of banks. They can be employed in international logistics companies as well as customs firms. Our graduates can make a vertical transfer to the Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences if they meet the necessary requirements.
