Program Profile
The Nursing Department, which provides a four-year undergraduate education, aims to bring a different understanding to the current nursing education in our country. As in all professions that work with people and focus on people, the familiarity with social sciences, behavioral sciences, and basic medical sciences are employed in nursing. The Nursing Department aims to raise individuals who can take a holistic view of health problems, adopt humanitarian values, and produce solutions based on scientific knowledge. The vision of our department is to be a leader at the national level by continuously improving nursing education. Its mission is to train leading nurses who combine scientific knowledge, ethical knowledge, and a humanitarian approach.
There are three critical differences which distinguish our curriculum from other nursing education programs. The first of them is that the educational sciences model and a mix of empirical, aesthetic and ethical way of learning that form the basis of nursing.
The second difference is the compulsory and elective courses that we carefully put into the program to eliminate the lack of self-care and the gaps in nurse-patient communication.
The third difference of the program is that nursing care is based on the understanding of nursing care theorists rather than a medical model. With these features, we expect this training program, which is a first in our country, to be an example and reference.
