Profile of The Program
The education applied in our faculty is integrated-hybrid system based supported by learning and enriched with interactive educational activities. It is aimed that our students take on their educational responsibilities and realize their learning needs, and their professional and individual development is taken as a basis.
The main aim of our faculty is to train physicians who have sufficient knowledge, skills and behaviors, respect ethical values, researcher, questioner, self-confident, good communicator, respected and exemplary by the society, successful in their profession, forward-thinking and focused on scientific research, competent to provide quality health services.
The integrated system is carried out by similar topics being taught in a coordinated manner in different departments/fields on the basis of organ systems at different times within the same course board in order to provide a link between the course topics in I, II and III terms. Within this integrated system, "Problem-Based Learning" is also implemented as a part of medical adaptation programs.
In the first term of their education, students are taught basic cell and tissue knowledge, physiology, biochemistry, skeletal, muscular and joint anatomy, general characteristics of microorganisms, explanation of vitality with physical laws and laws, public health problems and basic concepts and basics of genetics.
In the second term, information about embryonic development, anatomical and histological structures and functions of organs in the organism, physiology of the organism, understanding the biophysical meanings of the functions of the systems, important metabolic events and energy gain, laboratory diagnosis of metabolic disease are taught. It is aimed that students can comprehend the etiopathogenesis, morphological and clinical relationship of diseases, cell damage, adaptation and pathology of inflammation, the work and functions of the immune system. Basic information about drugs including absorption, distribution, metabolism, basic mechanisms of action, drug resistance and drug interactions are also given.
In the third term, it is aimed to acquire etiopathogenesis, pharmacology, microbiology, clinical radiological and laboratory findings, diagnosis and treatment methods related to diseases, to gain up-to-date information about public health practices and approach, to acquire the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes required by the profession of medicine.
For board courses in terms I, II and III, board exams are held during the academic year, and final and make-up exams are held at the end of the academic semester. For non-medical compulsory courses and elective courses, there is a midterm exam and final and make-up exams at the end of the semester. Term IV and V are divided into clinical internships. Students are trained in different clinics during these term. These training terms are supported by theoretical and practical applications.
The sixth term is the "internship" period before graduation. During this period, students prepare themselves to become doctors by taking different responsibilities under the supervision of faculty members and specialists.
Career Opportunities
After 6 years of study at the university, you will become a general practitioner and will be allowed to prescribe medicines. If you want to specialize in a medical field, you can become a Specialist Doctor by taking TUS and then receiving specialty training. Thus, you can work in public and private hospitals, as well as work in your own clinic.
